Dr. James Fox is Educational Programme Director Emeritus at the Jeffrey Rubinoff Sculpture Park. A British art historian, writer, curator, and BAFTA-nominated broadcaster, Dr. Fox played a foundational role in developing the Park’s Educational Programme, including the Company of Ideas Forums, the JRSP awards and fellowship programmes, and the Park’s major publication series on art and knowledge.
Dr. Fox has edited two major JRSP publications: The Art of Jeffrey Rubinoff (2017) and Art and Knowledge After 1900: Interactions between Modern Art and Thought (2023), co-edited with Dr. Vid Simoniti. He is also working on a comprehensive catalogue raisonné of Jeffrey Rubinoff’s artistic practice.
Beyond the Park, Dr. Fox is Director of Studies in History of Art at Emmanuel College, Cambridge, and Creative Director of the Hugo Burge Foundation. His writing has appeared in The Telegraph, The Times, and The Independent. As a BBC Arts television presenter, his programmes include The Art of Japanese Life (2017), Who’s Afraid of Conceptual Art? (2016), and A History of Art in Three Colours (2012).
