RUBINOFF CONTRIBUTORS

The JRSP Artist-in-Resident is an established artist commissioned to produce a specific work or project in consultation with the park. The work is generally presented at the park, but is meant to make a contribution of high quality to the arts more generally.

The park collaborates with various different Authors, some of whom are commissioned to produce works on specific topics related to the collection, while others produce related work independently.

Churchill College, Cambridge university offers a four-year Junior Research Fellowship to recently graduated PhD’s. Over this period the fellow engages in teaching, while pursuing their own research and publication furthering inquiry into art as a source of knowledge. The fellow is also expected to attend the annual JRSP Company of Ideas Forum each spring, and may be asked to host a Forum.

Educators awardee bring groups of students to the park to, the about the sculpture collection and values of Jeffrey Rubinoff. They provide opportunities for students to engage creatively, and to enhance their appreciation of sculpture, and arts more generally.

Performing artists stay for up to a week and perform multiple times throughout at the sculpture park. Performance residents do workshops for the public, rehearse new repertoire, or rework repertoire specifically for performance at the sculpture park.

The residency is intended for emerging or professional visual artists, musicians, curators, educators and scholars whose are interested in engaging with the sculpture and ideas of Jeffrey Rubinoff. Residents are invited to study the sculptures, explore Rubinoff’s writings and archives, and experiment within their own practice in response to the park. The goal is to encourage independent inquiry that develops new directions in art, academic research or the public communication of ideas inspired by Rubinoff’s work and ideas.

Provides funding for early career researchers anywhere in the world in support research leading to one or more publications on any subject relating to art and knowledge. The researcher is either a graduate student in the latter stages of their PhD degree or they have submitted your PhD thesis within the past three years.

A professional artist or established scholar is chosen by the University of Victoria to spend up to five weeks at the sculpture park producing a work in line with their own practice. The Artist subsequently spends a week in Victoria do in readings, lectures, exhibits, performances of their work, and engaging the students and faculty.
